WHO WE ARE

Blumlein Associates, Inc. (BAI) was established in 1983 by Fred Blumlein, whose varied career in the industrial, graphic, and environmental-design disciplines led him to create our studio. Fred taught exhibition design, design research, and presentation skills to generations of students at Pratt Institute for more than

30 years. His passion for teaching was evident in the office environment at BAI,
as Fred fostered individual growth and creative freedom through his trusting relationship with his employees. A wonderful, creative culture was formed, as were strong bonds between associates, contractors, and clients — virtually all members of the team.

In 2009, Chris Leonardi and Claudia Castro joined forces to become the new owners of BAI. The unique culture that became inherent in our company has been maintained by our new leadership. Our goals remain the same; be passionate about what we do, strive to find the best solution for the task at hand, be professional in how we conduct ourselves, and financially responsible to our clients — all while having fun.

BAI brings talented individuals who excel at various design disciplines onto the team based on the needs of the project(s) at hand. At the completion of each project, our clients and the public have always enjoyed the trademarks of our work — inspiration, joy and function.
